HBO Officially Announced the “House of the Dragon” Season 2
HBO announces the “House of the Dragon” Second Season. HBO has formally renewed Game of Thrones for a second season, just days after the first season’s premiere, which the channel claimed as the biggest series premiere in its history with 9.986 million viewers on cable and HBO Max streaming. A few days later, “the first episode has now been seen by over 20 million viewers across linear, On Demand, and HBO Max platforms in the U.S.,” the company reports in a press statement announcing Season 2.
Here was HBO’s official statement on the news:
We are beyond proud of what the entire HOUSE OF THE DRAGON team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see TV. A huge thank you to George, Ryan, and Miguel for leading us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two.
— HBO Officials
The HBO television series, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s books, is the first to be produced and is roughly 200 years before the events covered in the first Game of Thrones season. Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans are among the cast members of the show’s first season, however, it’s uncertain whether all or all of their characters will make it through to Season 2.
New episodes of House of the Dragon air weekly on Sundays on HBO and HBO Max.
House of the Dragon will be exclusively available for Indian fans on Disney Plus Hotstar streaming services.
